Terms of Service
Effective August 29, 2026
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Cragen (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License
Cragen grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control for your own personal fitness tracking. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where permitted by applicable law.
- Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or rent the app.
- Use the app to build a competing product, or to scrape, harvest, or re-purpose its content.
- Remove or alter any copyright or attribution notices.
3. Intended use
Cragen is a fitness logging and analysis tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, diagnostic, or therapeutic advice. Consult a qualified professional before beginning any exercise program. You are solely responsible for your training decisions and your safety in the gym.
4. Your data
Cragen is local-first and stores your workout and program data on your device by default. Data may leave your device when you choose optional iOS account backup, use another disclosed cloud feature, or approve selected categories for connected coaching. You are responsible for keeping exports or account backups current. Loss, theft, or damage to your device may result in loss of training history if you have not backed it up. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from that device.
Sign in with Apple may give Cragen your shared email address or an Apple private-relay address. A verified regular email is optional and can be linked later as an alternate sign-in method for the same account; it is not required to connect a coach. For passwordless email, WorkOS Magic Auth processes the entered email and request-security context to send and verify the code.
5. Optional connected coaching pilot
The current consent disclosure is connected-coaching-2026-08-29-v3.
Invited members may connect an approved third-party coach or coaching assistant. You choose its scopes and may disconnect it at any time. Coaches and automated coaching clients are not Cragen employees or medical providers, and Cragen does not endorse or guarantee their advice. You remain responsible for deciding whether a proposal is suitable and safe for you.
A connected coach may read only the data covered by your approved scopes: programs.read, training.read, profile.read, health_summary.read, live_training.read, notes.read, and programs.propose. Training only means Programs, completed training, and program suggestions; it excludes Profile, Health summaries, Current workout, and Notes. A coach may propose a program, but it cannot directly edit your current program, active schedule, workout in progress, or workout history. Every accepted proposal is saved as a separate inactive draft after phone review. Connected coaches and their automated clients must not evade access controls, probe another account, retain data beyond their authorized purpose, or place unreasonable load on Cragen.
For coach authorization, WorkOS receives an opaque account ID and a non-contactable Cragen alias under coach-identity.cragen.app. A connected coach never receives your real or Apple private-relay sign-in email from Cragen, and that email is not coach context or a coach API field. Disconnecting revokes that coach. Pending proposals expire after 14 days, resolved proposal ciphertext after 30 days, audit events after 90 days, and connections idle over 90 days are suspended. Account export and deletion follow the Privacy Policy.
The pilot may change, pause, or end without notice. Cragen may suspend or revoke a connection to protect a member, enforce these terms, or respond to a security or availability issue.
6. HealthKit and Health Connect
If you grant Cragen permission, the app reads steps, sleep, and body weight from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) to display trends inside the app. As described in our Privacy Policy, raw health-provider samples are read-only and remain on your device. If you separately approve health_summary.read, only bounded derived steps, sleep, and body-weight summaries can be sent through connected coaching. Body metrics you save into your Cragen profile or history are Cragen records and may be included in optional account backup or an approved coach scope.
7. Crash reporting
Cragen sends anonymous crash reports via Sentry to help us fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your workouts, health data, or personally identifying information. See the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app to:
- Violate applicable law or anyone else's rights.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, its security mechanisms, or related services.
- Use automated means to interact with the app in a manner that places unreasonable load on any Cragen systems.
9. Intellectual property
Cragen, the Cragen name, the LC mark, the hex logo, and all software, designs, and content provided through the app and cragen.app are the property of Cragen or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
10. Third-party services
Cragen integrates with third-party platforms (e.g., Apple HealthKit, Health Connect, WorkOS for passwordless email request/security processing and pseudonymous coach authorization, Sentry, and the iOS App Store / Google Play distribution channels). Your use of those platforms is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Cragen is not responsible for third-party services we do not control. Cragen does not sell training data or use advertising tracking. These optional providers may process the limited data described in the Privacy Policy internationally where they operate.
11. Disclaimer of warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cragen is not liable for injuries, lost training data, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid Cragen for the app in the twelve months before the claim (which, for the free v1 release, is zero).
13. Termination
You may stop using Cragen at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these terms. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive.
14. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. Continued use of Cragen after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence applies, those rights are not waived by this section.
